ALL ABOUT ME
My name is Jennifer Young and I am the 6th grade teacher at Saint Brigid School. I love working with sixth graders because they are full of great ideas, curiosity, dramatic growth throughout the year, their energy, and their spunkiness. There is never a dull moment. These students sure do show a lot of H.E.A.R.T.! It is amazing to see the growth from when they enter my classroom that first day to the last day they leave my classroom. It is extremely rewarding to be a part of their growth and maturity in such a pivotal part of their middle school years of building their foundation for high school.
As a sixth grade teacher, I expand on their thinking, to think critically, analytically, and reflectively. I focus on writing, working collaborative, organizational skills, test taking skills, and reading comprehension skills.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” -William Arthur Ward This quote is my teaching philosophy. I want to be a great teacher to inspire the students that I interact with to become a lifelong learner, to be creative, to never give up, to work hard, and to continue to become a better person each and every day. It is the way I live and I hope I can create that inspiration for my students.
In case you didn't know, I absolutely LOVE sports, my favorite teams are the Warriors, SF Giants, and the 49ers. I also love art, working out, traveling, reading, writing, and math. Even though I am a teacher, I am a life-long learner.
